Bank Holiday Weekend Caching pt2

On Bank Holiday Monday (31/05/2010) we decided to pack a lunch and go for a stroll - which turned in to a long walk (approx 6-7 miles).

We began on part of the Middlewood Way near High Lane heading North. The Middlewood Way is an old railway line turned into a footpath/cycle path.

Starting with GC1HRYP, failing at the first cache due to an abundance of passers by we moved onwards north up the track and picked up the next 5 along route to the end of the path in Marple. GC1HRYG, GC1HRYB, GC1HQRR, GC1HQRN and GC1HQRB. Quite a good mornings caching. The great thing about the Middlewood Way is that it is straight and flat so going was good.

Upon reaching Marple we walked through the village towards the canal and the Cheshire Ring canal walk, athough we were only going to do part of it. A spot of lunch by Lock 13 right next to a cache, GC2OVXB.

Once refreshed we walked southwards which took longer back as the canal was twisty and turny but great scenery and peaceful. We found lots of caches on the way back - GC1HRZ6, GC1ZB6R, GC24ZZA, GC1GNDN, Near to Goyt Mill.

GC1HV6H, GC1HV6X and GC1HV73. Once again foiled at GC1HV6E and GC1HV6M due to passers by who were just happy sitting or standing watching life on the canal. Back to do those missed ones another day.

Finally finishing with GC1HRYZ and back to the car with tired legs.
