Been a while since my first cache find, but it was in the south of the country and have been travelling/working.

I decided for my first cache find to do GCGX07- Pier Pressure. It was a ghost cache, with the find being the fine area and pier. Enjoyed that one.

Next went over to GC1GJ15 - Sailors Path. A bit of searching and actually found my first medium size cache. Couple of swaps and on to GC1GFQC - High Water a bit further down the path. No joy with this one though. Couldnt find it.

After waiting in all day on Wednesday, finally the courier arrived at 17:20. Hmm delivery was anywhere between 07:30 and 17:30. Talk about cutting it fine!

So now have a Garmin etrex Venture HC GPS. Not a bad bit of kit. Decided to go for a basic unit as just starting out with geocaching and want to give it a try first. I can always sell the unit on and upgrade in the future if needs must.

Spent a couple of days playing around with the unit. It accepted the downloads from geocaching.com easily so now have a few stored cache's to seek out.

Starting Geocaching

I am about to start Geocaching from this weekend. Just awaiting the delivery of my GPS unit today. This blog will detail my Geocaching exploits on the way.
